Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how GlenVane ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and shares your personal information when you visit glenvane.com (the "Site"), place an order, create an account, or communicate with us in any way (together, the "Services").

We've written this policy to be as readable as possible, because we think you should actually be able to understand what happens with your information. By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read this policy and understand how we handle your data as described below.

Our store runs on the Shopify e-commerce platform, which processes data on our behalf to make the Services work.

The Information We Collect

"Personal information" means anything that identifies you or could reasonably be linked to you. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include:

  • Contact details — your name, email address, phone number, shipping address, and billing address
  • Payment information — card details, payment confirmations, and transaction records (processed securely by our payment providers; we never see or store your full card number)
  • Account details — username, password, and saved preferences, if you create an account
  • Order activity — items you view, add to cart, purchase, return, or exchange
  • Communications — the contents of emails and messages you send us
  • Device and usage data — IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and how you navigate the Site, collected through cookies and similar technologies

Where This Information Comes From

  • Directly from you — when you place an order, create an account, sign up for emails, or contact support
  • Automatically — through cookies and similar technologies as you browse the Site
  • From our service providers — such as payment processors, shipping partners, and analytics tools working on our behalf

How We Use Your Information

To run the store and serve you. Processing your orders and payments, arranging delivery, handling returns and exchanges, managing your account, sending order confirmations and shipping updates, and providing customer support.

To improve the shopping experience. Understanding which products people love, fixing what's confusing, and personalizing recommendations.

For marketing — only appropriately. If you've signed up for our emails, we'll send occasional news and offers. Every marketing email includes a one-click unsubscribe, and opting out never affects your orders. We may also show you relevant ads online based on your interaction with the Site.

For security and fraud prevention. Verifying transactions, protecting accounts, and detecting suspicious or unlawful activity.

To meet legal obligations. Complying with applicable law, responding to lawful requests from authorities, keeping tax and accounting records, and enforcing our Terms of Service.

When We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it only in these situations:

  • With service providers who help us operate — Shopify (our platform), payment processors, shipping and fulfillment partners, email providers, and analytics services — each bound to use your data only to perform services for us
  • With marketing partners to deliver relevant advertising. Depending on your state or country of residence, you may have the right to opt out of targeted advertising — see "Your Rights" below
  • With your direction or consent — for example, providing your address to a carrier to deliver your order
  • During a business change such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
  • When the law requires it — responding to subpoenas, court orders, or other lawful process, and protecting the rights and safety of our customers, our business, and others

Our Platform: Shopify

The Site is hosted on Shopify, which collects and processes certain personal data about your use of the Services in order to provide and improve them. We also use Shopify features that rely on data from your interactions with our store and others to improve shopping experiences. For those functions, Shopify acts as a data controller in its own right. You can read how Shopify handles personal data — and exercise rights over data Shopify processes — at the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy (privacy.shopify.com).

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored by your browser that help the Site remember your cart, keep you signed in, measure traffic, and support advertising. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings; blocking some cookies may affect how the Site works (your cart, for example, needs them).

Third-Party Links

The Site may link to social media pages or other external websites. Their privacy practices are their own — we encourage you to review the policies of any third-party site you visit. We aren't responsible for the content or data practices of platforms we don't control.

Children's Privacy

The Services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at support@glenvane.com and we will delete it.

Data Security and Retention

We use industry-standard safeguards — including SSL encryption on every page and PCI-compliant payment processing — to protect your information. Still, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security. Please use strong, unique passwords and keep them private.

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described here: managing your account and orders, meeting legal and tax obligations, resolving disputes, and enforcing our agreements.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live — including under state privacy laws such as those of California, Virginia, Colorado, and others — you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete your personal information
  • Receive a copy of your data in a portable format
  • Opt out of targeted advertising or certain data sharing
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights

Residents of the UK or European Economic Area may additionally have rights to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.

To exercise any right, email support@glenvane.com with the subject line "Privacy Request." We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we'll respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. You may use an authorized agent, with proof of authorization. Exercising your rights will never affect the price or quality of our service.

If you have unresolved concerns, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection or consumer protection authority.

Marketing Preferences

Every promotional email we send includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom — one click, no questions. After opting out, you'll still receive transactional emails such as order confirmations and shipping updates, because those are part of serving your order.

International Transfers

Our service providers may store or process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on recognized safeguards — such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses — for transfers out of the EEA or UK.

Changes to This Policy

When our practices change, we'll update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will be flagged more prominently where the law requires it.
